Chevrolet modifications

In 1958, another legendary model was presented – Chevrolet Impala, which was built on a Cadillac chassis. The sedan was built around a rear-wheel-drive chassis and was equipped with eight-cylinder turbocharged engines, rated from 195 to 360 horsepower. Only a few Impala modifications were presented, including a coupe, convertible, and roadster.

In 1961, Chevrolet Corvair was introduced – the first mass automobile with independent suspension of all wheels, which became the ancestor of the concern’s off-road line. Although by 1970, the financial situation of the entire automotive industry in the United States had deteriorated and only the production of compact and economical models could improve the market position.
